A lecturer in physical activity, Kieran’s research interests include the examination of sedentary patterns and physical activity behaviours in free-living environment; the examination of the associations between sedentary patterns; physical activity behaviours and indices of health and the implementation of interventions to modify health behaviours. Kieran is the co-ordinator of the INDEEP Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Doctoral Network.

Aoife has a particular interest in research on the experiences of girls and women in sport. Aoife is a current member of Sport Ireland's Research and Participation and Women in Sport Sub Committees. Aoife is also co-chair of the míde research consortium.

Mairéad’s research focuses on the role of exercise in the treatment and management of chronic disease, with a particular focus on cancer in both youth and adult populations. Her work aims to inform policy and practice in the use of exercise in cancer care through innovative and translational research. Mairéad is a member of EasCaR, the Exercise and Cancer Research Consortium, along with colleagues from DCU and The South East Technological University (SETU – Waterford).

Fiona’s primary research interests are in the area of exercise and health, specifically practical application and the impact of exercise rehabilitation for chronic disease. Fiona is currently co-supervising a Ph.D. on the impact of a dance exercise class for individuals with dementia and their care partners. Alongside her role in TUS, Fiona works with ExWell Medical which is an organization offering community-based exercise rehabilitation to a diverse chronic disease population.

Clare’s research interests includes the both the prevention and management of chronic diseases through physical activity and exercise.

Lewis is a lecturer in psychology and sociology and is engaged in research projects looking at the experiences of minority groups in physical activity.
